For this scene Since he is sad, his head can be slightly more forward (like the first time he stands with his feet apart (think its 2nd frame). Overall very nice.
Just for comparison can you try a version where Gerald walks a little faster and is slightly larger. I think it will improve the compositions if his eyes hits the top of the open box. Don't need to change proportions just make enlarge his whole body.
Also if it helps you can make the arms a little bit longer so the hands reach right above the knees. But its up to you.
